Hello and welcome to my website.

I’m Erick David Rodriguez-Orduna, Bachelor of Electronical Engineering from Universidad de las Americas Puebla UDLAP

Currently I’m pursuing the Ph.D in Intelligent Systems from same institution, with the thesis called:

Load Forecasting based on Optical Communications

Supervised by Dr. Jorge Rodriguez Asomoza, in my PhD Project we try to transmit electrical analog information along digital information multiplexed by a Photonic Device called Lantern

Since my Doctoral program is a Full-Time study I don’t have enough time to develop another projects but I also have strong interest in Data Engineering, Economical-Finance, and Machine Learning areas, therefore I will also upload some of that work too.

I Have Experience in industry in:

  • Power Electronic systems, developing projects that include creating architectures for remote communication and control of Class A Power-Quality Analyzers in factories for high voltage substations.
  • Industrial Communications for Smart Meter and Industrial Devices such as Inverters/ Harmonic Filters/ Energy Counters based on serial protocols for usage in Cloud Applications.
  • Developing feasibility analysis of Solar Projects including Cell Specification, Inverter and Budget constrains.
  • CAD schematics for Civil Engineering Projects and unitary prices for public and private tender contests.
  • Data Analytics according to Mexican Regulations (Comisión Reguladora de Energía – CRE) for load centers.
  • Coding applications and APIs for data storage and retrieve using mostly FLASK.
  • Design and implementation of prototypes and devices for electrical probes and testing high voltage devices.
  • Coordination of teams for implementing such projects with undergraduate students, interns and junior engineers.

I have experience coding in some programming languages:

Used in Projects: Little Experience (Few Works):
PythonMosel
MATLABVerilog
RJavascript
C++
SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL-Server, SQLite)
C# (.NET)

I also have experience in other technical areas and software such as:

  • MS Project
  • VISIO
  • Tableau
  • AWS (Lightsail, EC2)
  • Oracle Cloud (VPS Instances)
  • VPN (IPSec, Wireguard)
  • WebScrapping (Py-Requests)
  • Optical Fiber Communications
  • ModBUS (TCP. RTU)
  • VISA Automation
  • LabViev

  • 2018 – 2019: Treasurer @ UDLAP Student Council representing Electronic, Robotic and Communications Engineering. Also Secretary of Normative Commission in Student Council.

Some of my Tutorials:

  • Bitso API GitHub: In the video below you can find a brief tutorial on how to get current BTC price from the API of BITSO EXCHANGE it also considers a Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP) that gets the price depending on the volume of bids and asks. In spanish is PPP (Precio Promedio Ponderado) which is used by the Mexican Stock Exchange and that I consider as an accurate metric for real price of a stock.

Qualifications:

  • TOEFL ITP 627/677
  • EXTREME Campus Exos
  • EXTREME Wireless Cloud.
  • Diplomado en Proyectos de Innovación e Industria 4.0 (Insituto de Investigaciones en Materiales. Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico)
